The Finger Lakes

sunfl

A Four Seasons Playground
Hills, lakes, gorges and meadows along with extreme changes of climate, have made possible a great range of recreational activities: Sailing and boating, swimming, fishing, waterskiing, downhill and cross country skiing, showmobiling, hiking, biking, ice skating, rock climbing, camping and other outdoor pursuits.

Hey, hey, it’s time to wave the red, white and blue and scramble for candy thrown from the fire engines in the Memorial Day Parades. There are parades in Skaneateles,Waterloo, Auburn, and manyother towns. And if you want to really get into the holiday spirit, go over to Waterloo on Rt. 20. That’s the birthplace of the holiday — the Memorial Day Museum is righton the main drag in the center of town. 315-568-8634

Antique Boat Show: The last wekend in July, come to Skaneateles and see vintage boats in the water and on the park lawn. Lots of things going on with a boat parade, vendors with historic exhibits and best of all, the real thing: Adirondack rowing boats, Chris Craft originals, and so many more.

TThe 11 deep glacier-cut Finger Lakes located in the center of New York State, comprise one of the most scenic and unspoiled areas in the world. Hillsides carpeted with vineyards, more than 80 wineries, hundreds of inns and B&Bs, hiking and biking trails, open meadows and farmlands, along with sophisticated lakeside villages provide a respite from hectic lives.

Take a scenic cruise on one of the lakes, picnic near the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi, sail or waterski in the cobalt waters, camp along the shores where the Indians once lived, and attend an outdoor band concert.
